Butterfly Wings
Many butterflies have eye spots on their wings, which are used as a defense mechanism
against predators. In some cases, when a butterfly is resting on a leaf or something, the
eye spot is hidden until a predator decides to attack, at which point the butterfly shows
off its eye spots, confusing and scaring off the predator. Eye spots also serve the dual
purpose of being a non-life-threatening target for predators.
